corn...the carbon snitch
Ok...so we all know that corn-derived fuels are a great alternative to fossil fuels but a recent study suggests that corn may really be turning on the heat in its own little war against carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Not only may corn someday replace traditional petroleum based fuels, scientists are actually using corn to detect the CO2 emissions that these fuels emit.
A recent study shows how corn leaves can be used to map local CO2 emissions over the course of an entire growing season. So, you ask...aren't there instruments that can do this? While gas-sniffing gadgetry can directly record CO2 emissions, the low cost and abundance of corn throughout North America can greatly facilitate the process of tracking where CO2 emissions are the worst. It's a clever and relatively inexpensive way to sample emissions region wide, without sending a bunch of lab coats into the field. Corn may be an even bigger player in the reduction of greenhouse gases than traditionally thought.
So, where are the CO2 hotspots in the US? Sampling from 67 sites in 2004, this method showed that southern and central California and the Ohio Valley are the major CO2 emitting regions.
In the fight against global warming - Round #2 goes to corn.

Although corn is a good alternative, what is not mentioned is the government's current steep tariffs on imported ethanol from production methods that have less than half of the CO2 emissions of corn. Because of weather patterns within the US, growth of these alternative sources such as beets or sugar cane becomes cost prohibitive. So yet again although we are a global economy, we restrict ourselves to virtually one type of alternative fuel production from the US that in fact is still extremely harmful to the environment when other options are available.

HEY!!
You People at Method!
Why did you screw with my Lavender Dish Soap. It WAS wonderfully yummy and delicious and had the most perfect TRUE Lavender aroma.
NOW,, what with screwing around with the bottle shape and reformulating it,,, It is GARBAGE. It is completely ungrippable AND,, A N D !!!,,, Smells Like Medicated Dog Shampoo !! It made my hands and arms break out and itch for two days. JUST WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO IT, ANYWAY???
GEE!!! it looks like you're trying to destroy your loyal customer base. My daughter called me this morning to say the Lavender Dish Soap (her favorite too) NOW makes her sick as well.
I wanna talk to the corporate PUKE that did this to our soap!!
It's a good thing I am NOT the Housekeeping GODDESS!! Because if I was, I'd see you burning in eternal HELL, or,, well,, at least,, maybe hold you down and squeeze that new Lavender Dish Soap Crap in your myopic damned eyes.
WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO OUR LOVELY LAVENDER DISH SOAP, ANYWAY ?
Looks like you're trying to kill or at least, burn the skin of your faithful customers.
I am HURT!
I am LIVID!!
SHAME ON YOU, METHOD!!!
SHAME ON YOU, METHOD!!!
SHAME ON YOU, METHOD!!!

How about using corn for packing? A lot of companies already do this. AND how about refill sizes of your cleaners? Then we wouldn't be wasting as much plastic???

Dear Method,
I purchased some creamy body wash at a close out store in my area. It was lavender/thyme and was absolutely the BEST body wash ever. What happened to that particular fragrance? I was hoping to buy online at Methodhome but see that you arent carrying it anymore......Help :(

I L_O_V_E_ your products! I rave about Method to all my friends. My goal is to use only Method products in my home. I buy your product at Target and a local grocer here in St.Louis; however, the supply is very limited. As a 55 year old nurse and a homemaker, I agree with AnneMarie posted 4/07 about the change in the design of the Dish Soap. I was recently diagnosed with arthritis and I find it difficult to grasp the bottle. (Stored under the sink) I love your designs and I agree it helps to market the product but with the Dish Soap could you consider a more ergonimic design for women in my age group.

You have another convert to your family of methodhome. I watched the Oprah episode of "going green" and decided to do what I could for my family. I am very impressed with the few products available at Target (St. Louis) I just found your website on one of the products I just bought. Very pleased to be able to order online to broaden my 'method' products in my home.

Like others, my goal is to use only Method products in my home. I love every single product I'd purchase. I would like to see back floor cleaners for tile (you mix with water). It looks like it has been discontinued. Please bring it back!!!! :( Granite cleaner is awesome and I love the wood cleaner (love the almond smell and best, is not greasy!) Today, I purchased the aroma pill in lavender. It is wonderful. Keep up the good work, Method.

Corn ethanol is not the answer! There would be serious impacts to the environment and third-world countries that depend on corn for food. Read more at Co-op America:

I see that I'm not the only one missing the Lavender/Thyme bodywash. I tried the French Lavender hand soap and it made my skin painfully dry and itchy, I had to use seseme oil afterwards to correct the problem.
What the heck is going on with this company?
